Emergency First
Response is an excellent CPR/First Aid programme.
Whether you
are a diver or a non-diver, EFR prepares you to properly handle potentially
life-threatening situations.
This course covers the CPR
and First Aid prerequisites for the Rescue Diver course and meets the
requirements for the Appointed Person in the work place.
Emergency First
Response offers a convenient, complete and ongoing solution to meeting
workplace compliance standards in (CPR. AED and First Aid Training).
Our Emergency
First Response course includes comprehensive instruction in Primary Care
(CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) and meets regulatory body requirements.
Each module will consist of
a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic
scenario practise to make sure that you have the understanding and confidence
to use your skills. Before starting the training you will receive a participant
manual which you will study at home as part of your knowledge development.

What
is Emergency First Response?
Emergency First Response
is an innovative first aid program with comprehensive instruction
in Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (first aid). Primary Care
(CPR) prepares students to render aid to those with life-threatening
emergencies. Secondary Care (first aid) builds upon what students
learned in Primary Care and helps them assist those in need when Emergency
Medical Services are either delayed or unavailable.

Emergency
First Response Primary Care (CPR) addresses immediate life-threatening
emergencies.
There
are eight mandatory and three recommended skills covered in the
course:
Scene Assessment,
Barrier Use,
Primary Assessment,
Rescue Breathing,
One Rescuer, Adult CPR
Serious Bleeding Management,
Shock Management,
Spinal Injury Management,
Recommended Skill - AED (Automated External
Defibrillator)
Recommended Skill - Conscious Choking Adult,
Recommended Skill - Emergency 0xygen Use
The
Emergency First Response Secondary Care (first aid) course covers
secondary patient assessment and first aid through four skills:
Injury
Assessment, Illness Assessment,
Bandaging
Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures
Both courses use a combination of Knowledge Development, Skill Development
and Scenario Practice to ensure participant knowledge, understanding
and application.
